Duplex Steel Fasteners are manufactured using an equi-proportional mixture of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, having around 22-25% chromium and 4-6% nickel. This material gives excellent mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength (up to 800 MPa) and greater resistance to corrosion, especially in chloride conditions. Duplex Steel has better yield strength compared to other traditional stainless steels, with better impact toughness as well as resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
